The doctors that set the standard

Dr. Janell Sharber, Medical Director

Dr. Janell Sharber, DVM

Medical Director

Dr. Sharber is the Medical Director and driving force behind our hospital's elite standard of veterinary medicine. A graduate of Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine, she completed a rigorous rotating internship in emergency & critical care medicine and surgery before advancing her career at several of the nation's leading emergency and critical care centers. There, she managed thousands of complex emergency cases and surgical procedures, developing deep expertise in trauma management, immune-mediated disease, and critical stabilization.

Dr. Sharber's vision for our hospital is simple but transformative: deliver the best medicine possible — care that rivals the precision, technology, and standards of the top human medical facilities. Every protocol, every piece of equipment, and every member of our medical team reflects that philosophy.

Beyond the hospital, she remains an accomplished breeder and handler of Silken Windhounds and other sighthound breeds, maintaining one of the most successful breeding programs for the rare specialty breed, the Silken Windhound. Her dedication to health, performance, and excellence extends from the exam room to the show ring.

She has practiced in the Salt Lake Valley ever since.

Dr. Fisher's clinical focus includes emergency medicine, surgery, clinical pathology, and point-of-care ultrasound. She is passionate about providing a spectrum of care that meets every family where they are, and actively participates in comparative research across anesthesiology, surgery, and emergency resuscitation.

Originally from southeastern Pennsylvania, Dr. Fisher enjoys skiing, horseback riding, painting, and spending time with family and friends outside of work.
