Lab results in minutes, answers you can trust
What we run in house
Complete blood counts help us evaluate infection, inflammation, anemia, and platelet concerns. Chemistry panels illuminate liver and kidney function, electrolytes, proteins, and glucose—critical in sick pets and before many anesthetic procedures.
We also use rapid tests for certain infectious diseases when those results change immediate treatment. When send-out testing from a reference lab is the better tool, we order it and explain the tradeoff in time versus depth.
Why fast labs matter in urgent care
In urgent presentations, the same symptoms can come from different diseases. Blood work narrows the list, guides fluids and medications, and sometimes catches a problem that is not obvious on exam alone. For families in Utah’s southwest valley, that speed can mean starting the right treatment the same day.
Interpreting results with you
Numbers on a report are only useful if they are explained in context. Our doctors connect lab findings to your pet’s exam, history, and imaging so you leave with a plan—not a stack of jargon.
Common questions
How fast are in-house lab results?
Many chemistry and CBC results return in minutes. Some tests take longer; we will tell you expected timing for your pet’s panel.
Will my pet need a blood draw?
Most lab work requires a small blood sample, usually from a vein. We use low-stress handling and appropriate restraint to keep your pet safe.
