Overview

Vitamin D overdose causes dangerous calcium and phosphorus elevations in pets, which can severely damage the kidneys and other organs. Toxicity can come from high-dose supplements, psoriasis creams, and certain rodenticides. Signs may start with vomiting but can progress to profound lethargy and kidney failure. Prompt treatment improves outcomes before permanent injury develops.
