Utah Veterinary Emergency Center (UVEC) is a newly established, independently owned veterinary urgent care hospital in Herriman, Utah. We are building something different—a practice committed to practicing the gold standard of medicine while putting team well-being and genuine community impact at the center of everything we do. We’re looking for dedicated, skilled Veterinary Technicians to join our founding team and help set the standard from day one.

Our technicians work side by side with our doctors as true clinical partners, practicing the gold standard of medicine in a well-equipped, modern facility. SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION

• $23–$35/hour depending on experience and licensure
• 12-hour shifts: 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM
• Maximum of 14-16 shifts per month—we believe in sustainable schedules

MENTORSHIP & GROWTH

UVEC offers a level of in-house mentorship that is rare in veterinary medicine. Our doctors and senior staff are personally invested in the development of every technician on the team. Whether you’re a newly credentialed CVT looking to build clinical confidence, an experienced tech ready to expand your skill set, or an unlicensed technician working toward your credentials—you will learn and grow faster here than at any other practice. We don’t just say we develop our people—we structure our entire operation around it. Our technicians are expected to operate at the top of their skill set and continuously push beyond it. You will place IV catheters, induce and monitor anesthesia, assist in surgery, run diagnostics, and manage critical patients. If there are areas where you’re not yet confident, we will teach you. That’s not a throwaway line—our mentorship program is built to grow your capabilities every week you’re here.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist veterinarians in examination, diagnosis, and treatment of urgent care patients
• Place IV catheters, draw blood, and obtain diagnostic samples
• Induce, monitor, and recover patients under anesthesia
• Assist in surgical procedures and maintain sterile technique
• Administer medications, fluids, and treatments as directed
• Run in-house laboratory diagnostics and assist with imaging
• Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate changes in status to the attending veterinarian
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners
• Maintain thorough and accurate medical records and treatment logs
• Keep treatment areas, surgical suites, and equipment clean, stocked, and organized
• Practice the gold standard of patient care in every interaction

QUALIFICATIONS

• Licensed Veterinary Technician (CVT) preferred—unlicensed technicians with strong hands-on experience will be considered
• Prior veterinary clinical experience required; urgent care or specialty experience a plus
• Proficiency in venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, and patient restraint
• Strong diagnostic and technical skills with a willingness to continuously learn
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A genuine commitment to compassionate, evidence-based veterinary medicine
• A strong work ethic and the drive to continuously improve—you hold yourself to a high standard
